Alka-Seltzer Plus® Severe Cold & Flu Power Fast Fizz™ Citrus Flavor Effervescent Tablets is a combination of four medications: acetaminophen (an analgesic), chlorpheniramine (an antihistamine), dextromethorphan (a cough suppressant), and phenylephrine (a decongestant). It helps relieve symptoms from the common cold or flu in adults and children. This medication is available as capsules, effervescent tablets, and oral liquid. It's taken by mouth every 4 hours when you have symptoms. Some people might feel drowsy after they take the medication, while others might have trouble sleeping. Additional side effects include dry mouth and dizziness.
